The human body is made up of a large number of structures and systems that function within a specific equilibrium. When this balance is lost, the body warns us through different compensatory processes that ultimately become pain or illness.
Through osteopathy and kinesiology we will be able to detect where the origin of numerous ailments is located, solve them, and, what is more important, anticipate them to prevent future pathologies. For this reason, they are especially indicated for those chronic or difficult to solve processes, in which it is essential to perform a global treatment where not only attention is paid to the place where the pain appears but also the possible causes that have generated this imbalance.
HOW IS A OSTEOPATHY SESSION?
During the session, the patient’s structure is first explored to find possible dysfunctions involved in his problem. In the second place, the treatment of these dysfunctions is carried out by manual techniques and finally a series of recommendations are given to carry out the following days that will help to obtain the complete recovery.
A LITTLE HISTORY
Osteopathy was born from the hand of Andrew Taylor Still (1828-1917), a doctor and surgeon who discovered, in a very advanced way for his time, that a joint or a viscera so that it can function normally, should not be subject to any disturbance. For this, through the subtle development of palpation and various mobility tests, these disturbances are identified and restored with manual techniques, recovering the loss function in joints, muscles, viscera, ligaments and fascias.
Osteopathy has specialized in the treatment of a series of complaints of the locomotor system of medium intensity, which make daily life difficult, but which do not make it impossible, and for which surgery is not indicated. Thus, in a large number of such ailments, we do not find the answer to the problem in the place where the pain refers, but rather in remote maladjustments that influence that painful area. Hence the enormous importance of seeing the individual as a whole, avoiding focusing exclusively on the algid region, and evaluating the possible imbalances that through the fascial, nervous or structural system may be triggering this process.
When talking about health as important is the solution of ailments as the prevention of them. Therefore, it is important to have a global view of the individual, from which to establish diagnostic parameters, then focusing attention on specific tests and treatments with which we allow the body to recover the lost functionality:
1.- STRUCTURAL EXPLORATION: evaluation and treatment of restrictions on joint mobility of cervical, dorsal, lumbar, lower limbs, upper limbs as well as muscular and ligament tensions, responsible for current ailments or precursors of future injuries.
2.- VISCERAL EXPLORATION: evaluation and treatment of tensions and dysfunctions at the visceral level responsible for triggering neuroendocrine facilitation situations, generating reflex pain in the back, head and legs.
3.- CRANEO-SACRAL EXPLORATION: evaluation and treatment of imbalances in the mobility of the bones of the skull, its relationship through the meninges system with the back and finally with the sacrum-coccyx.
